About the Department
Child and family studies is the scientific study of human development across the lifespan, with a focus on childhood and the influences of the family environment, educational institutions, society, and culture. It is a discipline that adapts to fields such as childcare, early childhood education, industry, counseling and therapy, and public policy. In recent years, the role and importance of child and family studies majors have been emphasized by changes in our society, where parents and the state share the responsibility of raising children. In response to these changing times, the Child and Family Studies prepares child professionals to work in various fields such as infant and early childhood care and education, child counseling and developmental support, the education industry, and public institutions.
