아동학과

연세대학교 아동학 전공으로 학사와 석사 학위를 받았으며, University of Southern California, School of Education에서 Child Development 전공으로 박사학위를 취득하였다.  박사학위 취득 후 삼성복지재단 어린이개발센터에서 연구원으로 근무하였고, 2002년부터 가톨릭대학교 아동학과 교수로 근무 중이다. 강의과목은 영유아발달, 영유아사회정서지도, 정신건강, 특수아동이해이다. 세부 전공 분야는 유아기 및 아동기 사회정서발달이며. 특히  이 시기의 사회적 관계가 주요 연구 관심분야이다. 유아 및 초등 학령기 아동의  또래관계에 대한 연구를 지속적으로 수행해왔으며, 최근 부모-자녀관계 및 유아-교사관계 분야로 연구를 확대하고 있다.

 I received bachelor's and master's degrees in child studies from Yonsei University and Ph. D majoring child development from the University of Southern California, School of Education. After receiving Ph.D., I had worked as a researcher at the Samsung Welfare Foundation, Child Development Center. Since 2002 I have been working as a professor in the Department of Child Studies at The Catholic University of Korea. Lecture subjects are child development, social and emotional guidance for young children, mental health, and special education for children. My ​​research area is social and emotional development, in particular, social relationships of young children. I have continuously conducted research on peer relationships in  childhood, and have recently expanded research into the areas of parent-child relationships and teacher-child relationships.

연세대학교와 미시건대학교를 거쳐 보육 분야를 담당하고 있으며, 보육교사의 전문성을 높이기 위한 관련 변인들을 생태학적 관점에서 연구하고 있다. 육아정책연구소, 한국보육진흥원, 국가평생교육진흥원 등 다양한 국가기관에서 위원을 맡고 있으며, 시군구의 보육정책위원으로 지역사회의 봉사활동에 참여하고 있다.  

이화여자대학교에서 '유아교사의 디지털역량 강화를 위한 교육 프로그램 개발' 을 주제로 박사학위를 받았다. 이화여자대학교 부속 이화어린이연구원에서 교사로 근무하였으며, EBS 우리집 유치원 자문위원으로 활동하였다. 유아교육에서 미래사회 변화를 반영한 디지털 교육, 지속가능발전교육, 인구교육 등에 주로 관심을 가지고 연구를 진행하고 있다. 이와 더불어 영유아의 언어발달과 문해력, 문학교육에 대한 연구에도 관심을 기울이고 있다. 현재 학부와 대학원에서 관련 과목(유아 디지털 교육, 유아 지속가능발전교육, 언어지도, 아동문학/유아문학교육세미나)을 담당하고 있다. 세계유아교육기구(OMEP) 한국위원회 국제부 총무이사, 한국유아교육학회 학술위원, 한국육아지원학회 이사 등 학회에서 활발하게 활동 중이다. 

Dr. Kim received her Ph.D. from Ewha Womans University with a dissertation titled "Development of Educational Programs to Strengthen the Digital Competency of Early Childhood Teachers." She has worked as a teacher at the Ewha Child Research Institute affiliated with Ewha Womans University and has served as a consultant for the EBS program "Our Home Kindergarten." Her primary research interests are focused on digital education that reflects future societal changes, education for sustainable development, and population education in early childhood education. Additionally, Dr. Kim is also dedicated to research on language development, literacy, and literature education for young children. Currently, she teaches related courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, including Early Childhood Digital Education, Early Childhood Education for Sustainable Development, Language Instruction, and Seminars on Children's Literature and Early Childhood Literature Education. Dr. Kim is actively involved in various academic organizations, serving as the Secretary General of the International Affairs Division of the Korean Committee of OMEP (World Organization for Early Childhood Education), a member of the Academic Committee of the Korean Society for Early Childhood Education, and a board member of the Korean Society for Childcare and Education.
